Pastured Pork

GPasture raised pork is our newest addition to Cobb Creek farm. We have two main breeds of hogs on our farm, the hampshire and the red wattles. We started our hog program in 2018 with 25 hogs. Currently on the farm we have over 150 hogs on pasture.

Care for the animals. Care for the land.

At Cobb Creek we are striving to maintain a better quality of life not only for our animals but also the land on which they live. Using a rotational pattern, we move the hogs weekly across 10 paddocks. In each paddock the hogs are able to burrow and wallow to help shape, maintain, and improve the land.

What our hogs eat. Our hogs are fed a non-GMO feed. Along with a natural diet of foliage that is grown in the pasture.

Why We do it

In a system where sunshine is part of the animals’ everyday life and animals have fresh grazing pasture, parasite load pressure is eliminated, and our animals are naturally clean and healthy. Because we manage our pastures for the specific nutrient content of grasses and other forage plants, our animals grow at a healthy rate and their meat contains more nutrients and a richer flavor profile than their factory-raised counterparts.
