At Cobb Creek Farm, we practice management-intensive grazing methods to restore fertility to the soil and to ensure the raising of happy, healthy animals. Our aim is not only to preserve, but to improve the land and our branch of the food system.

Turkey

Kill and Package

our Methods.

Our state-inspected processing facility is located on Cobb Creek Farm, and all birds are harvested in a humane manner to Texas Meat Safety standards. Cobb Creek farmers control and oversee every aspect of the harvesting process. Our own birds are caught in the dark to reduce stress, then processed immediately the following day. We process less than 150 birds/hour, versus 8500 birds/hour at industrial processing plants, and each broiler is harvested by hand, rather than hung up alive to be killed by dehumanized machines. Our small-scale, one-on-one slaughter methods ensure that each chicken experiences a minimum of stress and pain.
